This week, the Notre Dame football program kicked off their version of a ‘Media Day’. Similar to last season, since they aren’t in a conference, they travel to New York and are on various shows like First Take, Good Morning America and a handful of others. This season, Marcus Freeman headed back to New York City with running back Jeremiyah Love, wide receiver Jordan Faison, tight end Eli Raridon, offensive tackle Aamil Wagner, cornerback Leonard Moore and safety Adon Shuler.
Yesterday, Freeman and Love sat down with First Take and discussed what Notre Dame’s playoff run meant last season and what the expectations are surrounding this season.

Here’s a few of the quotes from Notre Dame’s segment on First Take:
Freeman On What Position Group Benefitted The Most From Last Season
“I think, when you look at our offensive line, I think we started at least nine to ten guys throughout last season,” Freeman explained. “Injuries and different situations played a big factor in that happening. As we go to 2025, you have a group of guys that all have starting experience in big games. I’ve always believe that we will be driven by our offensive line and defensive line; I think those guys benefitted the most.”
Love On Learning From The Championship Loss
“I just saw it as a learning experience,” Love stated. “We know what it takes to get to where we want to be. We took it on the chin. It takes consistency, the brotherhood and having trust in your guys. You have to have trust in your coaches to form a bond strong enough to get you far enough to win the National Championship. I took it as a learning experience in terms of what we needed to do to be better than last year. We strive to be the best version of our selves. I need to be the best version of me so I can help this team achieve success.”
Freeman On Preparing For The Season Opener
“We just have to continue to build what our identity is,” Freeman said. “The process is very similar but the skillset, the traits and the personalities can be a little different. What is this team going to have as it’s back bone? I think those questions will be answered in fall training camp. We’re going to have a new quarterback; how do we get whoever that quarterback is to get as much experience in training camp without having in game experience?
We have to put them in high pressure situations and they’ll have to execute. The real pressure comes when you go down there and there’s 80,000 or 90,000 screaming fans. That’s pressure. Let us simulate some type of pressure in camp so you’re ready for it.”
