The S&P 500 is still trapped in its Oct. 10 intraday range despite all the wild swings in recent days.
The S&P 500, up 0.4% on Thursday, is on track for its ninth consecutive session where it failed to trade above 6762.40 and below 6550.78. That was the index’s range on Oct. 10 when stocks opened higher but fell sharply on President Donald Trump’s tariff threats.
The Dow was up 34 points, or 0.1%, but moving in and out of negative territory. The Nasdaq Composite was up 0.7%.
