The Las Vegas Raiders and Denver Broncos will kick off Week 10 of the 2025 season on Thursday night at Empower Field at Mile High.
Ahead of the game, there is a major concern for the passing attacks and kickers of both teams thanks to the weather.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, wind gusts are reaching up to 34 miles per hour with a little under six hours left until kickoff. Fowler notes that conditions could change closer to kickoff, but that remains to be seen.
Raiders vs. Broncos weather update
UPDATE: Meteorologist Kevin Roth reports that the expectation is the high winds will taper down closer to kickoff, so there shouldn't be any issue for the passing attacks and kickers in Raiders vs. Broncos.
💨 🏈 It is indeed pretty windy in Denver right now, with gusts around 35mph… but those winds will very quickly taper off this evening.
Should be fine during #MNF
If it’s still a bit breezy around kickoff, it won’t be shortly after that. https://t.co/jUlNboXHdO pic.twitter.com/kXa5plwCvM
END OF UPDATE
"Here in Denver, where wind gusts are hitting up to 34 mph. Something that could affect the passing game in Broncos Raiders, though chance the wind calms down before kickoff," Fowler writes.
Aside from the wind, conditions appear to be clear in Denver, so there's no rain or worse expected in the forecast.
Regardless, this is something to monitor for our fantasy football folks out there, as high winds are bad news for quarterbacks, tight ends, wide receivers and kickers because high winds can change the trajectory of the football in the air..
Fantasy-relevant players who could be negatively impacted include QBs Bo Nix and Geno Smith, WRs Courtland Sutton and Tre Tucker, TEs Brock Bowers and Evan Engram and kickers Will Lutz and Daniel Carlson.
On the flip side, the rushing attacks for both teams could get extra work if the weather proves to be a factor. The fantasy-relevant players who could benefit includes RBs Ashton Jeanty, J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey.
Raiders vs. Broncos fantasy advice
Guys like Bo Nix and Brock Bowers are absolute must-starts, regardless of what is going on with the wind.
Sutton is a not a must-start player, so that sets up a tough decision if the wind keeps up, although we would suggest to sit him if the winds are still strong and you have another viable option on your roster.
The decision is a lot easier with players such as Tre Tucker, Geno Smith and Evan Engram, all of whom are fringe starters, at best. The same can be said for Lutz and Carlson, so don't be afraid to sit them if the wind doesn't subside.
