LSU Wide Receiver Chris Hilton Jr. Ready for Breakout 2025 Season After Injury Comeback

Jul 20, 2025 11:34 PM EDT

For Chris Hilton Jr., the 2025 season marks not just a new beginning, it signifies the long-awaited emergence of a player who has faced more challenges than most and is finally poised to fulfill his potential.

The LSU wide receiver, a former top recruit from Zachary, La., has had his college journey disrupted by injuries and missed chances. However, when he spoke to reporters at SEC Media Days this week, his message was unmistakable, he’s only looking forward. “I intend to leave the injuries behind,” Hilton stated. “I don’t doubt what God has in store for me. I have complete faith in Him.”

Hilton’s faith has become the bedrock of his  life. In a recent Instagram update, he referenced Mark 5:36 — “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith.”

This message struck a chord with many, including girlfriend and LSU basketball star Flau’jae Johnson, who liked the post. The two athletes, both on their own upward trajectories in Baton Rouge, share more than just school colors, they also share mutual support. Earlier this week, Hilton surprised Flau’jae with a bouquet of roses. Her heartfelt response, shared with her followers, was, “I couldn’t stop smiling. Thank you so much for always supporting me and making my days special even when you can’t be there. I love you.” Hilton’s reply was simple yet sincere, “I love you.”

In a program where pressure is relentless and expectations are sky-high, that kind of grounding is invaluable. Now a seasoned player in a revamped receiver room, Hilton has established himself as a reliable presence through his actions. “We’re going to be dynamic and explosive,” Hilton said, with his sights already set on the opener against Clemson. “You’re going to witness a lot of dances and plenty of celebrations.”

For Chris Hilton Jr., the celebration isn’t just on the horizon, it’s long overdue.
