Browns reporter reveals Cleveland's potential preseason plan for Shedeur Sanders

The Cleveland Browns' preseason plan for rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders may have just been revealed.

ESPN's Tony Grossi believes Sanders and fellow rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel will take most of the reps in Cleveland's first two preseason games versus the Carolina Panthers and Philadelphia Eagles.

"I think those first two games, Carolina and Philadelphia, he [Sanders] and Gabriel will play the bulk of the games," Grossi said on ESPN Cleveland on Wednesday. "Maybe split three quarters between them."

Veterans Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco are the most experienced of the Browns quarterbacks, so it makes sense that they aren't getting a high volume of snaps in the preseason.

On the other hand, Sanders and Gabriel are likely fighting for the QB3 spot, so it would be logical for Cleveland to give both of them equal playing time in the preseason.

Either way, it sounds like Sanders is going to receive the opportunity to earn a roster spot in the preseason. The Colorado product has an uphill battle to be the starter, as Pickett and Flacco are the presumed favorites. However, an impressive preseason for Sanders could change the Browns' plans for the quarterback position in 2025.

Cleveland will continue training camp this week and next week in preparation for the preseason opener versus the Carolina Panthers on the road.
