OU basketball ready for season two in SEC, schedule released

It’s nothing new for OU basketball coach Porter Moser. Whether it was three seasons in the Big 12 or last year in the SEC, it’s the grind.

That grind isn’t anticipated to slow down heading into the 2025-26 season. The Sooners are coming off their initial NCAA Tournament appearance under Moser. And expectations are pretty high after the transfer portal class.

OU is being very aggressive in neutral site non-conference games, and now we know the full SEC slate that awaits it.

The Sooners will once again play Missouri, Texas A&M and Texas each twice. Every other team will be played once.

And just like last season, OU will close with the SEC season with a mid-week home game against Missouri and heading to Austin to take on Texas. OU swept this pair last season to bolster it’s resume and give Moser his initial victory against the Longhorns.

Arkansas head coach John Calipari and the Razorbacks come to Norman on either Jan. 27 or Jan. 28.

OU begins everything SEC when Ole Miss arrives at the Lloyd Noble Center on Jan. 3 (Saturday).

There will be a 10-game stretch during a five-week span that follows the same pattern of two road games, two home, two road, two home, two road. That will lead directly into the one-week bye after game No. 11.

Where those mid-week dates eventually fall between Tuesday and Wednesday is going to be crucial for those road trips.
