Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of former West Ham United full-back Kirsty Smith on a free transfer.
The 31-year-old Scottish international defender joins Nottingham Forest after leaving former club West Ham United at the end of her contract earlier this summer.
Smith spent three years with West Ham United in which she made 73 appearances for the club in all competitions and scored two goals. She was given 14 outings in last season’s Barclays Women’s Super League.
The player is a former Barclays WSL2 title-winner. She achieved the feat in 2018/2019 with former club Manchester United. Smith spent four years with The Red Devils in which she helped the club to establish themselves as a Barclays Women’s Super League club.
After completing her move to The City Ground, Smith said “I’m excited to be here, knowing all of the history of the Club, it’s really ambitious and I’m delighted to have signed.
“Speaking to Carly and seeing her style of play as a head coach – I’m excited to get on board and work with her.”
Smith is Nottingham Forest boss Carly Davies’ third signing of the summer transfer window.
