NFL Power Rankings Round Up: Week 3, 2025

Going into the 2025 regular season, only The Athletic predicted that the Green Bay Packers were going to be a top-three team in the NFL. After two weeks of play, the Packers being considered as a top-three team is now officially a consensus thought.

Let’s take a look at what national analysts are saying about 2-0 Green Bay.

The Packers head coach was Notre Dame’s quarterbacks coach when Quinn hired him in 2015 to be part of an Atlanta Falcons staff that included Kyle Shanahan and Mike McDaniel. LaFleur has led the Packers against a team coached or coordinated by Quinn four times since 2019. His quarterbacks have thrown 12 touchdown passes against zero interceptions and had a 144.7 passer rating in those games, all of which were wins. Some thanks, huh?

The Jayden Reed injury is a concern. Reed broke his collarbone, and the Packers don’t necessarily have an alpha receiver. But they have plenty of options. And maybe tight end Tucker Kraft is actually their No. 1 receiver.

The Packers defense has smashed two of the best offenses in the NFL in consecutive games at home, with Micah Parsons just getting warmed up. Jordan Love and Josh Jacobs team up to make the ideal balanced attack to boot.

Losing Jayden Reed to a broken collarbone early in the Week 2 win won’t help Love identify a go-to guy. Through two games, tight end Tucker Kraft leads the Packers with eight catches for 140 yards and two touchdowns. Among the receivers, Dontayvion Wicks leads in catches (six), and Romeo Doubs leads in yards (96). Rookie first-round pick Matthew Golden has just two catches for 16 yards, but Love missed him twice on what could have been big plays against Washington. -- Rob Demovsky

Matt LaFleur and Jeff Hafley are different and yet very much the same in this way: they’re both phenomenal at getting elite players into space. Even when the Packers’ passing offense is slacking or one of their gifted receivers seems to be having an off day, LaFleur can involve them in a brilliant run play culled from their collegiate tape three years prior. We’re asking about the limits of this defense, but I see Jordan Love as the true unknown commodity that could take the roof off this season.

How well does DE Micah Parsons fit into this unit? Per PFF, he’s on (a very early) pace for 85 pressures even though he’s barely played more than half the Pack’s snaps.

In the first two weeks of the season, the Green Bay Packers dominated a 15-win division rival from last season and made 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels look ordinary. Micah Parsons gives this team Super Bowl sizzle, though the offense deserves recognition as well.

Quarterback Jordan Love has thrown for four touchdowns without an interception. Including last season’s playoffs, Josh Jacobs has an 11-game touchdown streak. Tyler Kraft is emerging as one of the league’s best pass-catching tight ends.

Put on a cheesehead and get on the Packers’ bandwagon while there’s still a little bit of room. – Moton

That defense is special. I loved this team to get to the Super Bowl before Micah Parsons got there, and now I love that pick even more.

Overall, the Packers’ win against the Washington Commanders seems to have put them over the Baltimore Ravens, who were frequently ranked ahead of Green Bay going into Week 2. On six of these eight lists, the Philadelphia Eagles were given the edge over the Packers. On five of the eight, the AFC’s Buffalo Bills got the nod over Green Bay.

Even though it’s still really early on in the 2025 season, the expectation of national analysts seems to be that we’ll get Bills-Ravens in the AFC Championship and Packers-Eagles in the NFC Championship. If that’s the case, hopefully Green Bay can win homefield advantage when they take on Philadelphia in Week 10 on Monday Night Football.
