Jason Kelce Reveals How Relationship With Travis Kelce is 'Different' Now

Former Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce opened up this weekend about how his relationship with his younger brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, has evolved over the years.

While attending the American Century Championship golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, Jason Kelce told Starcade Media that he and Travis Kelce have become closer than ever.

The two brothers, who have shared the football spotlight and now co-host the “New Heights” podcast, are learning how to balance public life with family bonds.

“Travis and I have been close for a long time,” Jason Kelce said. “Now with the podcast, we talk to each other more than we ever have.”

Jason Kelce explained that things between them have shifted from the typical older-younger brother dynamic to more of a friendship between equals.

“We loved each other growing up. We still love each other,” he said. “Now it’s more like peer to peer, whereas growing up, being the older brother, it was a little bit different.”

The Super Bowl champion described his 35-year-old brother as his “best friend on the planet.” He noted that they make sure to connect every week, even with their busy schedules.

“Now it’s just, he’s my best friend on the planet,” Jason Kelce shared. “We get to talk once a week, and our families are close.”

Travis Kelce and brother Jason Kelce talk on the 4th tee during the first round of the American Century Celebrity Championship golf tournament at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Stateline, Nev., Friday, July 12, 2024.

Both brothers were spotted at the tournament alongside their father, Ed Kelce. Fans crowded around them as they played golf, unaware at times that a black bear was lounging in a tree near the fairway.

Despite the excitement on the course, Jason Kelce took a quiet moment to talk about how he and Travis Kelce manage sharing their lives with the public.

“I think we try to share the right amount on the internet, the viral moments and whatnot,” Jason Kelce explained. “But you also try to keep some of the stuff private… We’re a family that loves each other, we love being around each other, and it’s good to sit down and talk once a week.”

The Kelce brothers have built a strong following with their podcast, which offers fans a peek into their personal conversations and playful rivalry. Even as Jason Kelce adjusts to life after football and Travis Kelce continues preparing for another NFL season, the brothers remain deeply connected.

For Jason Kelce, the biggest change seems to be how he and Travis Kelce now relate as adults. He no longer sees himself simply as an older brother watching out for his sibling but as a close friend who values the conversations they share.
