Former LSU Tigers offensive lineman Will Campbell is preparing for the New England Patriots training camp before the start of the season in September.
The Patriots drafted Campbell No. 4 overall in the first round of April’s NFL draft to add more star power to their offense and give starting quarterback Drake Maye additional pass protection. Campbell was a first-team All-American and first-team All-SEC offensive lineman with the Tigers.
He played a key role in protecting LSU starting quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, who’s heading into his senior season. After throwing for 4,052 yards, 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions as a junior, Nussmeier has the potential to lead the school to its first national championship win since 2019.

Even though he is no longer teammates with Campbell, they maintain a solid relationship since Ashlynn Nussmeier, Garrett Nussmeier’s sister, is in a relationship with Campbell. Ashlynn Nussmeier watched the Patriots draft Campbell alongside his family, and he showed his appreciation for all of them in a recent Instagram post.
“Pre-training camp with the crew,” Campbell wrote in the caption. His girlfriend commented, “Ready to watch you DO YA THINGG 👏👏.”
“I LOVE UUUUUUU.”

Her comments come as they have been together for some time and bond over their love of football.
“She’s amazing,” Campbell said during an interview with Us Weekly in April. “She has a football background, so she knows what it takes, the sacrifices that have to be made.”
“If she wasn’t as good with that stuff, I’m sure it would be a lot more difficult. But she’s a rock star.”
