One former Chelsea Chelsea player has claimed that a current Blue is not Chelsea standard and points to two Arsenal players.
Some might say that John Obi Mikel is too outspoken when he is talking about Chelsea these days. He has his own podcast where he chats about current Chelsea, and some fans believe he goes over the top and some might even say that he talks too much!
But when a former Chelsea player, who actually happens to be a bit of a fan favourite at least from his playing days, talks about all things Chelsea, then fans will often at least take note of what he is saying.
I think a lot of what Mikel says can be good, like his comments in the Club World Cup final tonight for example.
He also consistently says Chelsea need a new goalkeeper and Robert Sanchez is not good enough – again, he is spot on there.
But not everything he says is spot on like that, but we can leave that for now at least!
Mikel doesn’t rate Tosin

The former Blues midfielder does not think Tosin Adarabioyo or Benoit Badiashile are Chelsea standard and they need to upgrade them both.
He even points towards two current Arsenal centre backs as a example of the kind of defenders that Chelsea need to upgrade with.
What Mikel has said
“Tosin is a good player, but he’s not a Chelsea standard defender. Benoit Badiashile, the same thing,” Mikel told talkSPORT.
Mikel emphasized the need for Chelsea to acquire a top-tier centre-back to pair with their existing squad, pointing to Arsenal’s defensive duo of Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba as the benchmark.
“We need to bring another top centre-back like the likes of [William] Saliba or Gabriel [Magalhaes],” he urged, highlighting the pair’s crucial role in Arsenal’s robust backline, which has been instrumental in their recent Premier League title challenges.
