Chelsea lead Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, with the opening goal coming from Josh Acheampong.
The youngster bagged his first professional goal with a header, prompting a Tweet from Fabrizio Romano.
Romano says Acheampong faith being backed up

“First goal as professional for Josh Acheampong, key one for Chelsea and for the 19 year old defender,” Romano wrote on his Twitter page.
“[Acheampong has] full trust from the club and Enzo Maresca as Chelsea decided against signing new centre back in the summer also to let Acheampong develop, play and grow.”
There was a lot of talk about the Blues signing a centre back after Levi Colwill’s ACL surgery in the summer, but they resisted the temptation. They put their faith in Acheampong’s development, and while it’s not all been plain sailing, the huge talent is there for all to see. It’s certainly working out for Chelsea so far today.
Enzo Maresca has previously pointed out that he had previously had favoured Acheampong over other defenders, and he’s proved that again today. Tosin Adarabioyo is fit for the bench today after recovering from a calf injury, but Acheampong was preferred.
We wouldn’t say he yet has the “full trust” we would like, but Maresca is being true to his word and playing the 19 year old regularly.
In other news…
Acheampong’s first goal was all thanks to great work from Pedro Neto down the left, and the Portugal winger soon followed it with a goal of his own. You can see both efforts here.
There is some concern about Wesley Fofana, who was supposed to be back today after a concussion, but instead is not in the squad at all. We’re told it’s not injury related – which is even more worrying in a way.
