MITCHELL — Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball’s Kayleigh Hybertson and Lizzie Tyler were both honored with weekly awards by the Great Plains Athletic Conference as volleyball players of the week following two solid performances in conference competition.
In a pair of sweeps against Doane on Oct. 10 and Hastings on Oct. 11, Hybertson, a junior from Sioux Falls, tallied 67 assists, 15 digs, three kills, two blocks, and a service ace. This marks Hybertson’s second GPAC honor on the season as the setter of the week.
Hybertson has racked up 714 assists in 20 matches this season, at a rate of 9.78 per set, which ranks 18th nationally and No. 1 in the GPAC. For her career, Hybertson is fast approaching 3,000 set assists, standing at 2,877 in 83 career matches for the Tigers.
Tyler, a junior native of Mitchell, registered 44 digs in six sets to lock down the GPAC defender of the week honor.

Tyler, a 2024 GPAC second team all-conference player, has collected 382 digs on the season so far — good for 5.23 per set, which ranks 21st nationally and No. 1 in the conference.
Dakota Wesleyan (12-8, 6-4 GPAC) looks to extend its three-match winning streak against Morningside at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at the Christen Family Athletic Center in Mitchell.
